After leading his Florida Atlantic (FAU) Owls to a historic run to the 2023 Final Four, Coach Dusty May delivers with an excellent deep dive coaching session on his effective ball screen offense.  You will learn May's philosophy for structuring offense on makes and misses, how to open space with intelligent cutting, tailoring your offense to the strengths of your players, solutions for various defensive coverages and more!

In this excellent Ball Screen video, you will see how he coaches his players to play fast on missed shots and turnovers by getting insights on his principles to transition and drag ball screen options.

You will also learn how simple play calls and giving your players the freedom to play randomly through spacing and cutting concepts can get you paint touches within the first seven seconds.  Coach May shows how the '45' and 'Clide' (cut and slide) cuts can open space for your ball handler to attack.  'Drag Pop' is another simple adjustment that can create open shots for your screener or flow into secondary actions such as dribble pitches.  'Drag Twist' is an effective solution that will confuse any defensive coverage you will encounter.

Coach May also breaks down the Dragon secondary offense that is used when facing a more organized defense after made baskets.  This play sequences multiple actions that will scramble the defense within just the first few seconds of the possession.  Dragon Flash gives you a simple way to flow into more off-ball screening action.  Dragon Get is another easy adjustment that will free shooters with follow up screens after the ball screen.  You will also get ideas for how to change up the pick and roll to match the skillsets of your screeners.

The offensive options multiply when you see how Coach May adjusts with new solutions for different defensive coverages.  Hit defenders going under the ball screen a second time with the Flip action!  Learn how to punish teams that are trying to force you to the side by playing through the short roll or changing the angle of the screen!

Coach May demonstrates an effective play for your best shooter against Ice coverage.  You will also see how Coach May changes floor spacing to attack switching defenses.  This strategy will help you exploit perimeter mismatches with the gaps it creates.  May also shows how the ball handler and screener need to adjust their own based on the aggressiveness of the ball screen coverage.  These new ideas are going to help your players always make the defense look bad no matter what strategy they try to use.

This video is going to help any coach no matter whether you are looking for an entirely new offensive system or just looking for new ideas to tweak what you already do.  There is something for everyone who runs ball screens!
