Every year coaches around the country do their best in their preparation to put their players in the best spot to succeed. Coach Mark Slessinger is no stranger to this, as he has turned around a program and has helped them through their way to reclassification into Division I. Coach Slessinger shows his offensive system that has helped him put players where they need to be to be successful.

In this video you will get:

  • 2-Guard Offense
  • Modified Flex Offense
  • Set plays and quick hitters
  • Drills to implement both offenses

If you are wanting to update your offensive playbook or just get new fresh ideas, don’t look any further! This video has everything you are looking for!

Introduction

Coach Slessinger gives a background to his coaching philosophy: how, and why he runs these offenses. This offense is great for all the teams that do not have a great point guard. Many might think that this offense will slow the pace of play. Coach Slessinger has the data to prove that assumption wrong. His teams are among the top in free throw percentage, tempo, and length of possessions. These offenses will give you what you need to stay competitive and have a chance at the end of every game!

Drills & 5 on 0

Next, you will get multiple drills to use for implementing these offenses. The terminology dictates the movement or pattern, and each drill reinforces each call. On court players go through many different drills that help to explain and teach every action in the 2-Guard offense. Every player plays every position which gives great empowerment and helps create buy in. Coach Slessinger goes through every possible option and entry through build-up drills. From entering the ball to the wing, UCLA screens, guard to guard entries, ball screens, pin downs, you will get every option.

To put it all together, you will see a live 5 on 0 segment where players put all the calls and actions together into a seamless offensive attack.

Pressure Releases & Entries

When playing against smart teams you will inevitably need pressure releases to help your players. Coach Slessinger dishes out multiple counters and entries that will keep the ball moving and put pressure back on the defense. Of the entries you will see:

  • Forwards Out
  • Pro Cut
  • Center Out/Center Up
  • Center Release

All are potent entries that will keep defenses on their heels. You will then get six more entries that provide quick hitting actions and flow right into the continuity of the 2-Guard Offense. The Jazz entry will give you a quick two-man game and multiple shot options on the weak side.

Transition & Flex Offense

Next, Coach Slessinger discusses how to transition into the offense and how to position your best players in specific spots to make sure the ball touches their hands multiple times. Then, you will get to see the modified flex offense and how effective it can be as a changeup. After going over the basics and continuity, you will get an additional three plays that take advantage of your best players and mismatches.

The combination of these two offenses will give you the firepower to put points on the board no matter what level of talent you have!

Customer rating: “Great video! It has everything needed to put in the offenses … the teaching, drills, plays, and quick hitters are outstanding!”
