If you are looking for fast paced, high energy drills and masterful practice planning, look no further than this video featuring North Florida's Matthew Driscoll. Coach Driscoll shares his favorite drills that will bring focus, skill development, and efficiency to your practices like never before. This presentation is full of full, half, small group, and team drills that cover disadvantage situations, transition, rebounding, shooting and more.

Starting off, Driscoll discusses his philosophy on practice planning and drill design. He also shares the importance of looking at the big picture and how to best utilize your assistants. He then goes on to describe his practice structure and how to include as many players and skills as possible.

Defensive Drills and Rebounding

Coach Driscoll uses video to show his favorite drills, starting with a defensive mindset. The 4-on-3 Scramble drill is a disadvantage drill that turns into a transition situation, which gets players accustomed to quickly switching from defense to offense and vice versa. 4-on-4 Shell teaches athletes to aggressively cut off baseline penetration and trap ball handlers while working on the proper way to rotate out of it. Driscoll then outlines POV Ball Screen Coverage. This is a great conditioning drill that combines quick thinking in transition as players have to quickly defend using their ball screen coverages.

Next, three rebounding drills are explained and the Knicks rebounding drill is demonstrated. This will get your players working on different rebounding rotations and scenarios.

Transition and Shooting Drills

Moving to transition, Coach Driscoll shares great drills to work on the little things that make his teams successful in the full court. Several drills build up from different disadvantages, working on quick reads and aggressive play. The Lakers to Heat drill combines passing and quick decisions as it moves from 3-on-2 to 3-on-3. Driscoll also explains how they do all of these drills with variation throughout the course of a practice or season.

One of his patented drills, Fast and Furious, shows how Coach Driscoll's teams have become so good at attacking and shooting in transition. Other drills such as Circle Transition O-D-O combine all they have practiced in 5-on-5 play.

Coach Driscoll believes in doing things in groups of three. To close, he explains three competitive shooting drills. Blackjack and Back Jack will get your athletes comfortable with shooting under pressure.

This is a great video that will get you ready for more competitive practices and help take you and your team to the next level!
