Travis Ford has instilled a hard working culture in all of his programs and is known for building and developing his players' individual skills. In this video, he demonstrates an abundance of 1-on-1 moves and drills that will help your players develop their dribbling skills and ability to beat their defender off the dribble.

Warm-Up

In order to get athletes loose and warm for a skill session, Ford uses a 4-out drive and kick drill to teach players how to play high and wide around the 3-point line. Athletes will learn how to attack the paint and rotate as a teammate gets to the rim. This will help your players get used to being shot-ready while learning to play fast.

1-on-1 Drills

Beginning his 1-on-1 session, Ford takes players through ball handling practice using the hesitation, inside-out, stutter, and between the legs crossover moves to beat their defender. With every move, athletes learn how to over-exaggerate their actions and attack their defender. By playing through contact, players will learn how to stay on balance and attack the rim.

1v1 Ball Spins

In this drill, Coach Ford has players work on pivoting and catching in triple threat. Your players will learn how to sweep and attack by incorporating a jab step while having their eyes deceive the defender. Ford also builds skill by adding a shot fake from a shot-ready position. You'll also see Coach Ford demonstrate a shot fake crossover and then a circle rip through, which gives players an advantage attacking the rim.

Quick Decision 1v1

Rounding out the video, your players will learn how to make decisions in both the half court and the open court. Athletes apply the concepts they've worked on up to this point and do one of three moves: catch and shoot, shot fake, or circle rip.

Coach Ford has helped build numerous talented college players. The individual skill drills in this video will help your athletes become better within your offense and when they attack the rim!
